What You'll Do!

We are seeking a seasoned Director of Manufacturing to lead and scale our concentrate and product manufacturing operations in New Jersey. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the entire production lifecycle-from extraction and refinement to finished product packaging-while ensuring compliance, quality, and efficiency across all manufacturing activities. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in the cannabis or pharmaceutical industries and a proven track record in high-volume production environments.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute manufacturing strategies aligned with company goals for concentrates, vapes, edibles, tinctures, topicals, and other cannabis products.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to guide operational planning, budgeting, and expansion efforts.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams including extraction, processing, packaging, and maintenance.

Production & Process Management

  • Oversee daily production schedules to meet demand forecasts and ensure timely product delivery.
  • Standardize and continuously optimize extraction (hydrocarbon, CO2, ethanol) and formulation processes.
  • Implement lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other efficiency methodologies to reduce waste and maximize output.
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance
  • Ensure all operations are fully compliant with New Jersey CRC regulations and GMP standards.
  • Collaborate with QA/QC teams to maintain the highest product quality, safety, and consistency.
  • Lead facility audits and act as point of contact for regulatory inspections.

People Management

  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and safety.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs for all manufacturing departments.
  • Equipment & Facility Oversight
  • Manage procurement, maintenance, and optimization of all manufacturing equipment and infrastructure.
  • Plan and implement facility improvements and capacity expansions.

Education & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Chemistry, or related field; Master's degree a plus.
  • 7+ years of manufacturing leadership experience, with at least 3 in cannabis, pharmaceutical, or CPG industries.
  • In-depth knowledge of cannabis extraction, refinement, and product manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a regulated, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of NJ CRC regulations and cGMP standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience launching new cannabis products or scaling extraction labs.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MES systems.
  • Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification.
