Base pay range

$65,000.00/yr - $85,000.00/yr

Position Summary

Reports to Finance Department Manager. The Staff Accountant will perform accounting activities in the areas of cash management, accounts payable, and general ledger. Prioritize daily, weekly, and monthly tasks in a fast paced and demanding timeline.

Responsibilities-duties

• Abide by GAAP and internal procedures and controls to protect and preserve the Companies assets.
• Ensure timelines are met and prioritize duties as necessary.
• Post cash entries including, deposits and issuing checks, ACH, and wires for vendor payments.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations for all cash accounts.
• Properly code and enter vendor invoices timely
• Assist with monthly close of accounts payable and ensure unprocessed invoices and expenses are properly accounted for.
• Process weekly check run within assigned weekly cash forecast.
• Maintain general ledger accounts, prepare journal entries and perform monthly account reconciliations
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities.
• Prepare schedules and provide necessary documentation for external auditors.
• Receive regular training in departmental tasks, policies, procedures and be willing to accept constructive feedback. Participate in all AMM mandatory trainings.

Education & Experience Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from accredited university in Accounting or Finance.
• Two + years in similar role, managing complex accounting and financial systems.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks, Excel, Word, Outlook, Crystal Reports.
• Understanding and experience writing queries and using reporting parameters. Understanding and experience with SQL databases is a plus.
• Fluency in written and spoken American English.
• Experience in managed health care accounting i.e., capitation, IBNR, risk pools, RBO reporting.
• Sound understanding of financial statements (BS, P&L, SCF)
• Proficiency with online banking procedures including account transfers.
• Proficiency in manipulating, storing, and retrieving data using electronic means i.e., Websites, FTP, and proprietary applications.
