Production Test Engineer (PTE) support both the manufacturing test teams and the program they are assigned to support. They provide support to all manufacturing teams across all make centers where testing is performed and cover all phases of the product life cycle, including product development, transition to production, sustained production, depot activities and end of contract equipment closeout and dispositioning. The PTE supports creating Basis of Estimates (BOE) to estimate costs to add additional capacity, new capabilities and equipment obsolescence. The PTE supports ensuring compliance of the prime hardware to technical data package requirements and supporting test equipment. The PTE supports critical activities across all make centers where testing is performed as well as at the suppliers. They assist the engineering team and make center PTE’s by performing troubleshooting and problem solving of test failures. Identifies opportunities in test processes to reduce testing, improve efficiency, yields, and capacity. The PTE supports engineering configuration change board and assists the make centers in determining the correct effectivity for the change as well as supporting risk assessments and the program risk register. The PTE may be assigned projects to lead where they will track progress and execution either as the (CAM) cost account manager or a member of the project team.
