Report Writer I – Richmond, VA

Assists in the preparation and review of scientific documents under general supervision to meet or exceed quality standards in reporting. Provides guidance and training to, and collaborates with, Report Writer I, as required.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Writes and edits basic to moderately complex analytical reports for potential submission to regulatory
  • authorities.
  • Calculates and formats data generated by the lab in order to meet specific reporting requirements.
  • Works independently on design and population of various client specific report requirements.
  • Assists laboratory management in report related improvements to suit project specific needs.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 4+ years’) or equivalent combination of education, training, & experience

Preferred skills:

  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Good working knowledge of scientific terminology, research concepts, and Good Laboratory Practices.
  • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, table and graph generation, and use of applicable computer software.
  • Willingness and ability to collaborate with lab team members to gather, interpret and consolidate data, generate documentation and reporting, review data and information for presentation and/or submission.
  • Experience with analytical sciences and statistical analysis required.
  • Working knowledge of industry regulations, GLP/OECD, ISO17025, and other applicable regulating bodies.
  • Working knowledge of analytical laboratory procedures, inclusive to execution and documentation of data.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Time management skills.
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Editorial and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to utilize resources provided and exhibits self-sufficiency
