Job Posting: Maintenance Technician (Full-Time, Hourly)

Location: LaGuardia Building & Satellite Offices
Department: Administrative Staff
Reports To: Facilities & Services Manager
Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt (Hourly)

About the Role

UCP Heartland is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support the upkeep and preventive maintenance of our facilities, properties, and vehicles. This role is essential in ensuring our buildings remain clean, safe, and fully functional, while also helping maintain the reliability of our vehicles. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, proactive, and comfortable balancing repair tasks with vendor coordination.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform a wide range of building and equipment repair and maintenance work.
  • Make regular rounds to inspect facilities, identify repair needs, and complete necessary tasks.
  • Maintain general appearance and cleanliness of all UCP Heartland-owned locations.
  • Execute preventive maintenance programs for facilities and vehicles.
  • Coordinate with vendors to address technology, IT, security, lighting, and equipment needs.
  • Repair or replace drywall, paint, and order supplies as needed.
  • Document and track vehicle safety and maintenance records.
  • Drive company vehicles safely and maintain compliance with safety protocols.
  • Follow OSHA regulations, disaster preparedness protocols, and agency safety policies.
  • Demonstrate strong customer service when working with staff, clients, and families.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Attention to detail in preventive maintenance and cleanliness.
  • Ability to take direction and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Professional, cooperative attitude with strong communication skills.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Basic computer knowledge (Outlook, Microsoft Office).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of maintenance and repair of adaptive equipment.
  • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and manufacturer-recommended service schedules.
