ABOUT THIS POSITION

We are seeking a CDL Class A Delivery Driver to join our team at Metro Welding Supply Corporation in Detroit, MI. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering medical gases, welding gases, beer gases, and other specialty gases to customers in Detroit and the surrounding areas. As a critical and valued member of our delivery team, you will play a vital role in ensuring our products are delivered promptly, professionally, and with the highest level of service.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Safely transport and deliver medical gases to customers while adhering to all DOT and company regulations.
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the delivery vehicle.
• Load and unload cylinders using appropriate safety protocols and equipment.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs and ensure proper documentation for all deliveries.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to provide timely updates.
• Uphold Metro Welding Supply's standards for safety, professionalism, and customer service.

Requirements to be considered for this position:

• Valid CDL Class A with no restrictions on stick shift operation.
• Hazmat endorsement required.
• Clean motor vehicle report (MVR) is a must.
• Physical ability to perform considerable walking and conduct multiple deliveries at one or two locations per day.
• Early morning start times are required.
• Strong attention to detail, time management skills, and a professional attitude.

Qualifications

1. We are looking for a self-motivated and detail oriented person for a physically demanding job
2. At least 1 year of delivery driving experience required
3. Must be able to lift and move a minimum of 50 pounds without assistance
4. Must have a current & valid CDL A
5. Must have a current & valid Michigan Drivers License
6. Must have a clean driving record
7. Must have excellent organization and time management skills
8. Must be able to work independently
9. Must demonstrate ability to communicate effectively and maintain effective relationships with customers and vendors
