*Position Overview:*
We are seeking an accomplished *Senior Mechanical Engineer* to help lead the mechanical design, engineering, and technical execution of advanced seating systems. This role is pivotal in transforming architectural concepts into precision-engineered solutions that meet the highest standards of durability, safety, and user comfort. The successful candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strong leadership skills, and the ability to guide projects from concept through installation, ensuring seamless integration within complex architectural environments.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* *Seating Layout Optimization:* Translate architectural floor plans into precise, efficient seating layouts that maximize capacity, sightlines, and accessibility.
* *Bill of Materials (BOM) Oversight:* Lead the creation, review, and maintenance of accurate, detailed BOMs for all projects, ensuring correct specifications, materials, and quantities for procurement and manufacturing.
* *Cross-Functional Collaboration:* Partner with architects, engineers, electrical contractors, project managers, and production teams to integrate seating systems seamlessly into building designs without compromising aesthetics or performance.
* *Compliance & Quality:* Ensure all designs comply with ADA guidelines, building codes, fire safety regulations, and relevant industry standards. Conduct thorough design reviews and implement quality assurance protocols.
* *Site Support:* Attend site visits to assess installation conditions, provide technical oversight, and resolve engineering challenges in the field.
* *Problem Solving:* Identify potential design or construction issues and collaborate with the team to devise effective solutions. Work with contractors and installers to ensure all project specifications are met and implemented correctly.
*Qualifications:*
*Education:* Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline; Masters degree preferred.
*Experience:* Minimum of 8 years of mechanical engineering/architectural engineering experience, including at least 3 years in a senior or lead engineering role with architectural building-installed mechanical systems or seating products.
*Technical Skills:* Mastery of AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, or equivalent CAD software; advanced understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
*Knowledge:* Strong knowledge of building codes, ADA compliance, and construction practices related to architectural seating.
*Professional Skills:* Proven leadership, problem-solving, and communication abilities; skilled at managing multiple complex projects in a fast-paced environment.
